Dr Christos Bakirtzis is a neurologist. Ηe holds a master degree in Social Psychiatry from Democritus University of Thrace and a PhD from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He currently works in the second Department of Neurology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with clinical , teaching and research duties. He has participated in numerous clinical trials with regards to novel pharmaceutical agents in multiple sclerosis.  He has published more than 80 Pubmed indexed articles in the fields of neuropsychology, neuroimaging and neuroimmunology.. He was invited speaker in several international and national congresses.
